A simple race from Larnaca to Aya Napa on day one the Kataklysmos race is always fun with a stay over at Aya Napa and a race back the following day.

A new Non-Stop 600Nm Sailing Race aiming to become a highly rated Offshore Classic, a “Must Do” Race.

Targeting competitors from around the world it will be a truly international race.

Galerne Racing will probably not be able to do this inaugural race but it will be in future years calendars as an ORC Double Handed race.

This race used to be an annual event but little is known about this new version of what used to a clasic, hopefully with this revival it will become the same again!

This is a week long race series around the Greek Islands with the course mixing up the islands each year to make every time slightly different.

KITION YACHT RACE at Larnaca Marina – Run from the Ponatha Clubhouse this is normally a 20ish mile race around the Larnaca Bay

The ORC Cyprus Championship races are the main race series which given time we will be involved in but probably not this year!

It is probably the Biggest Water Sport Event in E. Mediterranean. An established event by Famagusta Nautical Club in the memory of Our Vice President, and after death Honorary President, Commodore of the Cyprus Navy, Andrea Ioannide.

Based at the Famagusta Nautical Club (Limassol), the event takes place in front of the Club, although some social events take place at the Limassol Marina. The Event started out with one Offshore race back in 2013 with ceremonies at our Club, including formal dinner, cocktail, musicians and a concept related to the tragic event of Mari.

Both Main Events are listed under the Worldwide calendars of the International Federations (IODA and ORC respectively).

The Fameline Offshore Regatta is normally held in September and is hosted by the Limassol Nautical Club and Fameline Holding Group

MIRW Marmaris International Race Week regatta will be held for over 30 years. The regatta will take place in the picturesque bay of the city of Marmaris (Turkey). MIRW is the brightest event of the season, and 100-150 yachts participate in it annually. This is a large number of participants, which means that the competition will be intense and exciting!

The memorial race is in memory or some old club members and is a good fun day around the cans.

FAMAGUSTA DISTRICT SAILING CLUB “BegaFigo” and the CYPRUS OFFSHORE YACHT CLUB ‘PONATHA’ are organizing the ALKYON Yacht Sailing Race at Larnaca Bay – more information to follow

we don’t hide the fact we are a new team to this boat and although we have been sailing and racing for many years 2021 was the beginning of Galerne Racing in Cyprus. We know we will not start at the top but wherever we find ourselves finishing the goal is to always beat that placing in future races, fancy coming and helping us achieve this!
