Initial tidy up – 31st August 2020
We had quite a lot to do once we were able to access the boat today but to start with we sat for our first onboard tea and coffee working out what needed to be done and in what order. Then we started work trying to find our ways around the boat as much as familiarisation as to see what we actually have on board and therefore what we will need to source before the trip! Barry ended up working his way through every locker and cubby hole pulling stuff out, cleaning and then replacing where we want things. I had quite a lot of paperwork to attend to as well as be introduced to the yard team as they will probably become very helpful for our short stay as we prepare Galerne and ourselves for her move to her new home.

We’ve managed to clear away quite a lot of the initial jobs stowing away anything we feel we don’t need for the trip, keeping out the bare minimum
for the two of us. The tea and coffee that was left for us on the boat has done us both proud with a few treats. We’ve made sure we’ve left enough room close to hand for the food supplies that we will need for the two of us for some sixteen days I’ve estimated that it would take us plus a few extras for any unforeseen issues we might have. We don’t at this stage know what we were going to be eating but we are in France with a good few Supermarkets around us!
