Eating well

We’ve been having a few issues with finding places to eat since we have been here because of two main issues, firstly we are in the period when this area of France have traditionally taken holidays so quite a few places are closed because of that but the second reason is this bloody Covid19 as […]

Radio issues

The radio is indeed a valuable piece of equipment not only to be able to call people but because it has AIS (Automatic Identification System) which is a real safety boost as it gives us the heads up when another ship is in the area all built in. The beauty of this and other onboard […]

Safety and Messy

I’ve mentioned that “The Box” held some safety kit such as the New VHF radio which I started fitting today but will tell you more when it is completed, Lifejackets which I’ve put together today and shown Barry how they work and where we will store them for easy access but I’ve needed to buy […]

The trip begins

The trip to the boat once we managed to get going wasn’t actually that bad having had our Covid19 tests done a couple of days before and filled out all the paperwork needed to transit through Athens and then to enter France, with a short train ride to our hotel.

Covid19

What a year 2020 has turned out to be the paperwork for Galerne didn’t seem that much or that hard to get through to begin with and Thiery was a good as gold explaining the French side of the process which included the deregistration of the boat from France and the changeover of ownership by […]

Survey results

The survey has come back with nothing that wasn’t expected as I knew the rigging was original and therefore 12 years old but still looking in good condition but as normal probably not good enough for the insurance companies! The pulpit and a couple of stanchions need tightening and he has suggested the through hulls […]
